I have to say I agree with the review by "Mark". This book is overall a disappointment. There are lots of black and white technical drawings that frankly aren't very interesting, and a great many black and white photos of the Panzer IV that are generally of good quality but also aren't terribly interesting. What you really expect from a Trojca book - the very high quality color graphics - are in a small section at the back. I kind of wish I hadn't bought it, certainly not for $200. It makes me wonder if the equally expensive volume on the Panther is the same thing.
Excellent content

Wow
Very comprehensive, looking forward to the two other
Well..it’s another Trojca book. This particular book is a greater disappointment than most of the others. For me, I have hundreds if not thousands of dollars in books on the various German tanks. The panzer IV has always been a favorite. With all the information and knowledge of this vehicle now accessible, I am greatly disappointed in the lack of technical information one would have expected this volume to contain. There are full copies of maintenance manuals, the D653 series manuals available to essentially be able to build the tank from the ground up. All of this could have been compiled into this first volume. For example, the hull and its components, in detail. Specifically the engine, transmission and the whole final drive and break assemblies, the running gear etc. There is essentially nothing here worth the $200 that is not already available. Yes it has very nice photos of the A-F1 versions. The employment and use of the panzer IV are pretty well known. The Begleitwagen PANZER IV book by Spielberger, Jentz and Doyle already supply most of what’s repackaged here. I cannot recommend this book. It’s like eating a meal hoping the flavor gets better with each bite. All you’re getting is the empty calories and tremendous disappointment.
