Schwere Panzerabteilung 502 fought exclusively on the battlefields of Russia. As the first tank unit deployed with the new Tiger I tank, it saw its first action on the front lines of Leningrad at the end of August 1942 and was followed by combat actions around the Ladoga sea front line and then also in the Baltic countries. 

Volume 2 showcases images taken by German war correspondents and also private photographs taken by veterans of the Abteilung 502.

The photos are arranged in chronological order by the date and location and show the Tiger tank in the field, under maintenance and in action.
